Well, last Thursday with Leo standing over me, I saw 6 patients. I placed 15 implants, extracted a number of teeth, and grafted more sites than Chins in China! (no offense to all my Asian friends!) We went all day and then some and Leo stayed by my side for all of it! What an incredible experience of learning and confidence. He is truly a master of his craft and extremely level headed in all situations. These cases were fairly complicated and I feel ready to go now! Using guided surgery makes this whole thing seem easy! The grafts were also complicated allowing Leo time to explain situations and reasoning why were doing what we were doing. Hell, I have a hard time tying my shoes let alone suturing membrane down in the mouth! ;-) But I gotta tell you all that the day flew by and seemed to move seamlessly. Truly an awesome experience that I now get to provide better and more predictable care for my patients.
I have said that in these times we all need to expand our offerings to our patients and this is one that will boost productivity, enhance patient experience, and allow for proper placement that I can control. In total, the day yielded about $55k in collections and I didn’t charge the patients for the bone grafts!
